smoky broiled tofu & brussel sprouts!

here is a simple meal. barely any prep work and only a 10 min cook time. you can't really beat that. really! it's great served on a bun or toast or alone. a great companion for this would be steamed (or baked) brussel sprouts and pressed garlic. less is definitely more.

smoky broiled tofu.

1 block of tofu, pressed & cut into 2-3 slices lengthwise

for the marinade:
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1/8 tsp liquid smoke
1 clove garlic, pressed
1/2 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp chilie powder
1/8 tsp lemon & pepper seasoning
dried rosemary (optional)
hamburger buns (optional)

instructions:
1.) set oven to broil.
2.) combine marinade ingredients into a small bowl and whisk together.
3.) brush both sides of each slice of tofu and place it on a baking sheet.
4.) broil for 5 minutes, turn and add extra marinade if any is left. sprinkle with some dried rosemary and broil for another 5 minutes.
5.) remove from oven and serve with delicious and nutritious steamed brussel sprouts with pressed garlic.
